Vary little is known about the fox man. Vary little has he agreed to share with me. I don't know his real name. I don't think he even knows anymore. His mask is his name now.
There used to be a lot of these fox people. To humans they look like ordinary foxes. But to others, they were people with fox masks. At one point there was a clan of said fox people, there name also forgotten. Hidden away safely in the mountains, they lived in peace and rarely had contact with the humans that lived down below.
But over the year these spirits didn’t see how much the humans changed. From small villages to large advanced cities. That was until one stumbled upon the fox village. They were confused by a village hidden in the mounting that seamed abandon other than foxes that darted here and there. A foolish elder approached the human and showed his true form in hopes to be friendly. But the human ran screaming about a long forgotten legend. The legend of the fox people in the mountains, oh how the humans had forgotten.
Not long after many humans came to the village and set fire to it. Forcing the foxes to run to the city, where they were shot with darts and captured. Fox man hated the humans. They had ruined his home and taken his sister. How could he ever forgive these humans?
Fox man sat in his plain white cell and thought "Ah. Then all humans must be like this. This is what they’ve come to after so much time."
He won't tell me who it is that came into his cell. But when I found him there was blood covering most of his cell and it also slightly covered him. I had seen a blond boy in a green tunic with black eyes and red irises show up in the mirror. In the reflection of the door the knob was turned and fox man was urged to leave quickly. Though not quick enough, as a tall figure appeared with pale white skin and no face. He took the blond boy away but the door was still open.
Fox man knew I had been watching him....so he came for me. He hasn’t hurt me....yet. But every night he leaves in his clean white outfit. Only to come back slightly covered in blood again. I try not to ask, because I don't want to end up next. I can always feel that confident and blood lusting smirk from behind his mask. I'm just glad I'm not human.
